On a day where we remember MLK and all he stood for, many people joined together to collect food donations for the Pantry! We had many donations today, they just kept coming and it was so exciting. A couple of ladies even stayed and helped volunteer at the pantry today. Thank you so, so much to everyone who volunteered and worked to get food for our community., coming together to serve ALL in our community, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or religion. 135 families which was 447 people were fed today!! I know MLK would be proud! ... See MoreSee Less
Recentlly we have been being contacted by some of the homeless groups for help with food. A couple of weeks ago, we received a bunch of candles in jars as a donation. I brought them out to one of the camps, and they were thrilled! Candles provide light AND heat. Any use reflecting blankets in tents and cars and 1 candle can provide heat for a couple of days apparently. Today, we are bring food over again and we were asked for candles. We normally do not have these. If anyone has or would like to donate candles, preferably in some kind of glass or metal container specifically for the homeless, please bring them by, Thank you!! ... I say, if they really want to come that early, tell them that they can stay,as long as they volunteer the entire time they would have been in line waiting and add an half hour or so to it.. It would be a win win if they are that dedicated to getting free food.
On another note. Thank you for everything you do for everyone, including my family.
