The summer kids food program took off with a bang last week! Today Felicia Nunn once again took the van to Fayetteville where parents and guardians came to get food from 1-3 for their children whom are out of school for the summer. One grandmother is raising her grandchildren ( this is a common thing anymore ) and she puts the food choices out on the table, gives the children their drawstring backpacks, and allows them to "shop" for their food. It's very cute! Also a fun way to approach things. ... See MoreSee Less

Some projects take longer than others. A LOT of work goes into special projects, and if they turn out to be successful, even more. Our gardens, for example are run by a wonderful man, whom I have known since I was 19 as Dudley. He starts planning what to plant with me in Oct/Nov. He plants the seeds and grows the sprouts starting in late winter and drives down from Indy to plant them when they time it right. He drives down every week to tend to the garden. We have PEAS ready to pick and eat!! If you like PEAS, feel free to stop by and pick a bag, just please be gentle with the plants, as they will still produce for alot longer. Other veggies will be ready in the coming weeks. Thank you Dudley for your dedication and hard, sweaty work!!
Also, planning for Thanksgiving just started and I'm still not done with last years Elf Dispatch records, LOL. ... See MoreSee Less
